We invite you to the first of five webinars about gender equality. Together with SZTAMA and the HerStory Foundation, we are organizing a series of meetings with Ashoka Fellows from various parts of the world, who in their work focus on redefining masculinity, engaging men in counter-violence activities or work with boys and men.
During the first webinar you will learn about the specifics of working with men in Bolivia. We will hear the story from Ashoka Fellow - Daniela Maudeth Valdivia Gutiérrez. In Daniela’s words: I founded Huellas & Futuro almost 10 years ago with the main goal of eradicating gender-based violence with the certainty that this is not a problem only for women but for the whole society. Hence, we decided to involve men in the raising-awareness and capacity-building process focusing on them as costars of the program. Ever since, we have been working with boys, youth, fathers and brothers promoting their own ideas and thoughts on how to overcome the issue of domestic violence, learning, together with current and new generations, to shape new models of masculinity which include co-responsibility for family and society. Our holistic approach fosters values such as solidarity, respect, appreciation and tolerance.
