Known as the father of the environmental movement in Colombia, Mario Mejía created the model for university teaching of sustainable organic agriculture, developed an organic experimental station with national and international visitors, and revolutionized the lives of small coffee farmers through his research and live demonstrations on the most effective farming techniques which produce quality products while respecting the land.
