Introduction
Radical interpretation of Islam has been politically exploited by extremist and terror groups to spur Muslim youth to widespread violence and disruption. Leveraging the power of close study of the Quran, Basit is creating a network of empowered Muslim youth and clerics in India to challenge and change the current radical narrative around Islam, and replace it with a peaceful understanding of the religion that models overarching tolerance.
