Inspiring keynote by the wonderful Ghanian Ashoka Fellow Regina Honu.
Regina Honu is a Ghanaian social entrepreneur and software developer who harnesses the power of technology to foster social change in West Africa. She is the CEO and Founder of Soronko Academy, the first coding and human-centered design school focused on equipping young women with both technical and soft skills. These skills empower them to secure dignified, fulfilling jobs and help bridge the gender gap in technology. To date, Soronko Academy has trained over 20,000 girls and women, connecting approximately 5,000 of them to job opportunities. Regina has garnered multiple awards for her pivotal role in integrating women and girls into the ICT sector. In 2017, she was named one of BBC’s 100 most inspirational and innovative women.
Roundtable “New Allies: How International Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Entrepreneurs Collaborate to Transform Global Development”
How can social entrepreneurs and INGOs collaborate to drive systems change? What barriers do they face when attempting to work together? What are the critical success factors for these partnerships? In our brand-newreport, we've identified 14 actions that INGOs, social entrepreneurs, funders, and intermediaries can take to unlock the potential of these collaborations and foster systemic social innovation.
In this roundtable, together with our partners and co-hosts Gunter Schall (Austrian Development Agency), Elisabeth Schreiber (CARE Austria), and Lukas Wank (Global Responsibility), we will dive deep into the findings of the report and discuss opportunities for collaboration. The discussion will be moderated by Georg Schön (Ashoka), co-author of the report.

You will meet the participants of the new cohort and get inspired by their journeys, projects and personal stories, including selected NGO leaders who are taking part in our challenge to innovate for global development.
