Born in East Africa, Built for Africa
Founded in 2001, Ashoka East Africa is the youngest of Ashoka's Africa offices. We serve the East African region of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda, identifying and supporting the most innovative social entrepreneurs working to create lasting systemic change.
For 25 years, we have built one of the continent's most vibrant citizen-sector ecosystems: electing over 100 Ashoka Fellows, running the Visionary Program for cross-sector leaders, launching youth changemaker initiatives, and convening diverse stakeholders around East Africa's most pressing social challenges.
Programs Built for Systemic Change
From supporting East Africa’s most innovative social entrepreneurs to equipping the next generation. Our programs are designed to ensure everyone has the confidence and capacity to be a changemaker.
