Together with the support and collaboration of Boehringer Ingelheim and Ashoka, my organization developed a sustainable business model on NCD -Non Communicable Diseases- health care in rural communities in Kenya which has contributed to the success of our business
Overview of the Program
The MMH Accelerator (MMHA), currently in its third year, was developed by Ashoka and Boehringer Ingelheim to scale the work of social entrepreneurs who are increasing access to human and animal health in Africa.
The MMHA combines Ashoka’s expertise in social entrepreneurship with Boehringer Ingelheim’s business acumen and knowledge of the healthcare industry. Program participants receive support including hands-on strategic support from Boehringer Ingelheim executives via the Executives in Residence (EiR) program as well as links to external investors.

Selection criteria
For projects to enter the Making More Health Accelerator program, entrepreneurs have an early stage venture with the following characteristics:
Years of operation
At least two.
Revenue
$100K or more preferably for two years.
Team size
At least eight (depends in size and structure of the venture).
Countries of Operation
Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana or Kenya.
Area of Innovation
Any innovation that has a direct or indirect impact on awareness, availability, affordability, quality or sustainability of healthcare access for both humans & animals in underserved populations.
Health Focus
Human Health Focus: Non-communicable diseases including diabetes, hypertension, stroke, respiratory disease, cancer
Animal Health Focus: Livestock & Zoonotic disease
