Believing that change should come through collective work, Érica created Somos ELO in June 2021 as a link that amplifies the individuality of each person and uses the seed (the connection between a sunflower seed and individuals) as tools for change, simple and daily citizenship. Somos ELO addresses the problem of lack of citizenship among people worldwide, using the seed as a way to demonstrate that transformation sprouts within each of us. Érica started the project with her friends and family, and now she is the global leader of the project, with a network of 30 volunteer "seeders." Although the team and their roles are still being assembled, they are already well-structured: there is the "seeding" core that develops the project, the "cultivating" core that executes the activities, and the "harvesting and multiplying" core that takes care of the initiative's expansion.

Somos ELO has already impacted over 30,000 people in different countries, with plans to reach 1 million in 3 years by building a global team and a website to serve as a community of seeders around the world. The program's impact is generated by forming a network of people who, through small actions, are changing the world for the better, creating a chain of spreading small acts that bring about change.
