Starting a green skills revolution: A conversation with Ashoka Fellow Brandon Dennison
Join this webinar to learn how Ashoka Fellow Brandon Dennison started a Green Skills revolution in his home community of West Virginia, USA.
Born and raised in West Virginia, Brandon Dennison is Founder and CEO of Coalfield Development. He founded Coalfield Development in 2010, an organization that’s created 250 new jobs, trained over 1,200 people and leveraged more than 20 million dollars in new investment in the region. They have revitalized over 200,000 square feet of formerly dilapidated property in West Virginia, a US state whose economy heavily relies on coal mining.
Brandon will be interviewed by Ashoka’s Gayatri Chauhan, and will give us insights into how he built Coalfield Development, their approach to green skills, and how we start equipping other communities around the world with the skills needed to thrive in the green economy.
Coalfield Development won last year’s Future Skills Changemakers Challenge, and were a big inspiration for launching this year’s Green Skills challenge. For participants of this year’s challenge, this is an unmissable opportunity to learn from one of the world’s leading green skills innovators!
