Ashoka’s Fellowship Program aims to bring together Ashoka Fellows from around the world and to create a platform for social entrepreneurship and change-making, supporting group and individual entrepreneurship.  Ashoka Fellowship is a lifetime fellowship for social entrepreneurs who have achieved systemic change in their region.

Being an Ashoka Fellow means that you will have access to a network of over 3,700 other Ashoka Fellows around the world, in more than 93 countries.

You will receive support as long as you are working towards solving social problems.

Some examples of the support received by Ashoka Fellows are the following:

Financial Support

  • Ashoka invests in people. We search the world for leading social entrepreneurs and at the launch stage, provide these entrepreneurs—Ashoka Fellows—a living stipend for an average of 3 years, allowing them to focus full-time on building their institutions and spreading their ideas.

Award Nominations

  • AAW team shares, via email, possibilities of award applications with all Fellows.

  • AAW can support Fellows  in reviewing their applications before submission to ensure all requirements are clear and met.

  • AAW can nominate Fellows for an award at a request from the Fellow.

  • AAW nominates some Fellows to international awards such as Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, KAAYA, Forbes Social Entrepreneurs Category List.

  • AAW team also writes recommendations letters for Fellows who are applying for grants and awards related to their idea.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Monitoring and Evaluation are important management tools to track progress and facilitate decision making. With regular tracking, designing new programs and activities is more effective, efficient, and yields more powerful results for the community. Ashoka adopted this tool to support Fellows in transforming their vision into reality.

  • This not only enables Fellows to track their performance and identify gaps in a regular and organized manner, but also, supports them in documenting successes and challenges for creating annual reports, proposals, and budgets.

“After being an Ashoka Fellow, I got many benefits, and many opportunities were opened to me. The stipend helped me a lot in developing my work. With this stipend, I was able to expand my work horizontally and vertically. I completed my master’s study and improved my English, and developed my skills and capacity. Now, I am a trainer in business...
