At our latest Welcome Change, we heard from Senior Ashoka Fellow Mekin Maheshwari, who is building the entrepreneurial mindset education India's workforce will need for the future. By 2030, one in five working-age people on the planet will be Indian. This means the country needs to create about 115 million new jobs – more than ten times the pace at which jobs are currently being created.
Mekin's Udhyam Learning Foundation is rewiring how millions of Indian students think about work before they ever enter it. It has embedded entrepreneurial mindset education into government-school curricula, reaching 4.7 million students across 12 Indian states, proving that the solution isn't more degrees, but a different starting mindset.
Tune in to hear from Mekin, in conversation with Shruti Nair, our Ashoka South Asia leader.
