Ashoka Romania is turning 3. Three years of ecosystem building, three years of fully supporting social innovators.
Join us in a full day of events with Ashoka Fellows from all over the world! We will talk about Democracy, Digitalization, Climate and Health and how empathy can be used to tackle through the New Inequality.
The new inequality in the world is between those people who are in the new game, who have the underlying very complex abilities to contribute to change, to adapt to change, to live and work in a world not of institutions, but of fluid, open, integrated teams of teams and those that do not have the ability to do so.
This, ‘the new inequality’, is deeply destructive and divisive leading to unequal income distributions across the world. There’s a bidding war for those who have the skills to participate in the fast-growing ‘everyone a changemaker’ world.
However, what about the other half? They don’t have the new skills, and they are not learning as part of the new game’s teams of teams. They are on the wrong side of “the new inequality” dividing the world. This inequality is unlike those with which we have long been familiar: Race, gender, religion, etc. It gets deeper every year.
We all need to work together to build an everyone a giver, everyone powerful, everyone a changemaker world. In this world, we grow our cognitive empathy muscle and tap into the idea of placing ourselves in someone else's situation and gaining a better understanding of their experience.
