Michelle Molitor
Growing up as a bi-racial girl outside of Detroit, MI, Michelle was exposed at a very early age to both the joys of belonging to a diverse family and the painful truths of bias and discrimination in her broader community. It led her to take action, joining service groups and starting a multi-cultural group in her high school, and most importantly, it led Michelle to making the choice to be an educator. Michelle felt then, as she continues to today, that education is key to understanding and embracing the world and the people around us. Now, as a founding staff member and principal of the elementary school at E.L. Haynes, Michelle has the opportunity to build on what she has learned alongside students, staff, and families. E.L. Haynes has worked diligently to make sure empathy is a core part of how E.L. Haynes operates, ensuring that students grow up understanding that being good people is as important as being smart people.
