Veronica Abud Cabrera is the Executive Director at Fundacion La Fuente. Veronica was previously a primary school teacher and has a masters in education. In 2000 she founded, along with her family, Fundacion La Fuente, a non-profit organization focused on the design and implementation of educational and cultural initiatives that bring benefits to vulnerable populations. She has carried out social projects regarding books and reading, especially building school libraries that are open to the community, mobile libraries, and public libraries located in shopping centers. She has also led the creation of cultural centers, designed to promote the enjoyment of the arts to audiences of all ages. In 2009 she was awarded the Schwab Foundation's Social Entrepreneurship Award for her Creating Tomorrow's Readers project, aimed at promoting reading. Currently, she is a board member of Fundacion Sociedad Anónima, a news agency aimed at making solidary action on civil society visible.

Sharath studied at Cambridge and Oxford and received his MBA from INSEAD. He was awarded an honorary doctorate for his contribution to global education, and serves on the Education Commission’s workforce group – the pre-eminent institution chaired by the UN’s Gordon Brown.

Sharath was founding CEO of Teaching Leaders – an initiative that raised $25 million in government funding to increase attainment for every disadvantaged secondary school in the UK. He was also Head of Social Ventures at eBay UK, a Project Leader at Booz & Co, and a Senior Manager at Action Aid.

Ian heads up the HR Dept Edinburgh & the Lothians team. With nearly 30 years HR experience, Ian has a wealth of experience in helping businesses to ensure success through their people, be legally compliant and handle tricky people issues. As a business owner himself, Ian understands the challenges that come with running and growing a business.

He is known for his ability to explain complex concepts simply and to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Ian lives in Edinburgh and is a huge sport and music fan, with an insatiable appetite for world travel fuelled by his round the world trip with his family a few years ago.
