Join us for an hour to meet Eric Rosenthal, the founder and Executive Director of Disability Rights International (DRI). Rosenthal will discuss the global human rights challenges facing 10 million children and countless adults with disabilities who are segregated from society in orphanages, psychiatric facilities, nursing homes, and other institutions. He will share insights from his efforts to ensure the protection of international human rights law to an overlooked population and describe how people with disabilities have played a critical role in shaping this new international human rights movement. Since international charities and development funding have played a role in perpetuating stereotypes and promoting further discrimination against people with disabilities, Rosenthal will describe the responsibility to international donors in promoting the enforcement of international law.
