As social, environmental, economic, and technological challenges continue to evolve, resilience depends not only on strong institutions, but also on people's ability to take initiative, collaborate across differences, and help others do the same.
Drawing on Ashoka's changemaking framework and stories from across the network, this session explores how building agency and changemaking skills can strengthen a community's capacity to adapt, navigate uncertainty, and create positive change.
Together, participants will reflect on their own experiences, exchange practices with peers, and explore how a culture where more people see themselves as changemakers can become a powerful foundation for collective resilience.
Objectives:
- Explore the relationship between changemaking and resilience through Ashoka's frameworks and experiences from the network.
- Reflect on how changemaking skills contribute to resilient communities.
- Examine how agency can be unlocked and strengthened, especially in times of uncertainty and crisis.
- Exchange insights and practices with peers working across different systems, sectors, and contexts.
Format:
This 90-minute online workshop is part of the Unlocking Agency series, and a space for learning, reflecting, and exchanging.
The workshop will introduce key ideas and examples from Ashoka's network, followed by opportunities for individual reflection and peer exchange. Participants will explore how changemaking skills help communities navigate disruption, build collective capacity, and create lasting positive change.
You will leave this space with a new lens on resilience, practical insights for your own work, and new connections with peers committed to building communities where everyone can be a changemaker.
We look forward to seeing you there,
