Jose Salcedo was one of the winners of Youth Venture and MTV Tr3s Agents of Change Campaign back in 2010. The campaign spotlighted the issues that affect the Hispanic community in the US including immigration, education, financial access, cultural integration, among others. Jose Salcedo represented a student led organization called Students Working for Equal Rights (SWER).
Recently, the Kauffman Foundation ranked Atlanta as a top 10 US city for entrepreneurial activity and Forbes named it one of the best cities for female founders (1/3 of businesses are owned by women). We believe it is a hotbed for changemaking activity, and so we decided to visit and find out for ourselves.
