Changemaker School Leader Jasmijn Kester awarded as Best Dutch School Leader
Last november the rector of one of our Ashoka Changemaker Schools has been awarded for her work at the Vathorst College. Jasmijn Kester was nominated by her own students and colleagues at the Vathorst College. Being recognized by her offspring and peers is something she sees as her biggest accomplishment.
According to the facilitator of the election, the Dyade Education Executives ‘good leadership’ is essential for teachers and students to provide good teaching. The Dyade Education Executives ensures that schools provide and continue providing good leadership. They realize this through recruitment and selection of successful teachers and school administrators with the help of community activities and temporarily support when needed. Part of these good practices is the election of the best school leader in which these professionals earn the stage.
To the Vathorst College this is proof that their good practices are getting picked up and accepted. With the recognition of Jasmijn Kester as Dutch Best School Leader one of our leading changemakers is putting Changemaker Schools on the map!
