Vishnu is presently the global leader for Partnerships, Planning and Management. He integrates the efforts to build funding partnerships across the 37+ Ashoka offices globally. Also, he is leading an effort to organize the planning and management of the organization towards the “Everyone a changemaker" vision.
Vishnu is also the founder director of two initiatives which have spun off from his earlier work at Ashoka - Indian Housing Federation (IHF) and Nourishing Schools Foundation (NSF).
IHF was born out of the work he led on affordable housing initiative under the program “Housing for All” which aimed to demonstrate that large social problems can be solved - if for-profits come together with non-profits as equal partners aka “Hybrid Value Chains”. His work led to change the landscape of how affordable housing was done earlier by creating over 15000 homes in a short span of 2 years across multiple cities.
NSF is a program created to address chronic malnutrition in children (also manifested as obesity) in the age group of 9-14 across India, Africa, Southern Europe and USA. The program has now reached over 25000 children taking charge of their own nutrition by knowledge and design thinking based approaches.
Vishnu has been an entrepreneur most of his life. His first two for-profit ventures were based out of Singapore and has been involved in launch/relaunch of various Ashoka offices in the Asian region.
