Meera Vijayann manages communications and media partnerships for Ashoka United States. She has a keen interest in social entrepreneurship, gender rights and culture. She has written extensively on the emerging social sector and gender rights movement in South Asia. She also uses digital media in creative ways to empower, inform and educate young people about the issue of gender-based sexual violence. In the past few years, she has contributed to national and international discussions on the issue of gender rights and violence in India. Her articles and blogs have appeared in several leading media outlets that include Forbes, The Guardian, The Deccan Herald, The Huffington Post, CNN, IBN LIVE, Open Democracy and The New Indian Express. At Ashoka, Meera is working to inform and build momentum around the growing need for social-emotional learning in education by working with Ashoka’s wide network of Changemaker schools and education experts.
