Ashoka Changemakers is looking for a Editorial Intern who can drive people to action through their compelling words and stories. We’re looking for someone who can write with a knife. Our ideal candidate can craft headlines that practically force people to click through to the full article. Sound like you?


Potential Responsibilities / Projects:

  • Edit and write for both the Changemakers brand, partnerships, and campaigns.

  • Support editorial processes across a variety of content mediums.

  • Develop a measurement tool and trace the impact of Changemakers’ stories and content creation.



  • Strong copywriting, editing, and distilling-of-information-down-to-its-essence skills.

  • Able to adopt new frameworks quickly and shape stories through the Ashoka lens.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the innovation sector and possess a strong intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Flexible and adaptive, able to work collaboratively across many projects and teams.

  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

We appreciate interns who have excellent writing skills, good time management, and are on task, outgoing and willing to learn new material. Most importantly, we want interns to support Changemakers’ vision, and be able to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their work while they are with Ashoka.


Our goal is to ensure every intern has an excellent professional development experience. We regret that we can only offer unpaid internships at this time. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but please keep the following recommended timelines in mind. Internships are 8-10 weeks in duration but exact dates of internships are flexible:


Changemakers Intern Recruitment Schedule:


Spring Internships (Mid January – Late May)

Summer Internships (Early June – Early August)

Fall Internships (Late August – Mid December)

Candidates should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy a wide-range of personalities. Most importantly the candidate should have a strong interest in crafting impactful language that moves people to action.


This is an unpaid, part-time internship. Ideal candidates will dedicate 20 hours at the Ashoka Changemakers office a week, for 8-10 weeks.
