Ashoka’s first Morocco Fellow, elected in 2007, was the first Fellow elected in the Maghreb region. Since then, Ashoka has established a firm presence in the Maghreb via a flourishing Fellowship community and broader activities to promote social entrepreneurship. To date, Ashoka has elected four Fellows in Morocco working in fields from education to gender parity and civic engagement. In 2014, Ashoka led a local panel as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit and later facilitated a workshop focused on social entrepreneurship and the Ashoka Fellowship.

Ashoka’s presence in Morocco is facilitated by Ashoka Arab World, Ashoka’s regional office based out of Cairo.
