Each grade level performs for their peers every year, covering topics like anti-bullying, family diversity, struggles for civil rights, and self-esteem. The school believes that parents, students and staff must work together to achieve the school’s vision. Students play a vital role as agents in their own learning, in both the academic and social field. By increasing the avenues by which students are able to be active participants in their learning. According to Principal Alexander Hunt, the “Integration of empathy-building content into the arts is a means of including students as teachers for their peers, and performances often serve as a common jumping off point for student conversation about these issues. Because students have been integrally involved in the performances, they feel involved and connected to the themes, and are able to explain them to their peers.”
