Mr. Alex Wong serves as Partner at Hogan Lovells. Mr. Wong serves in Hogan Lovells Singapore office who has advised on a number of energy, construction and infrastructure projects in Asia. Mr. Wong holds an LL.B. from Queen Mary & Westfield College. Mr. Wong has worked in the energy and infrastructure space in Singapore and around Asia for almost two decades. Although most of his work has been focused in the water and energy sectors, he has also done significant work in wider infrastructure sectors, including transport and environmental infrastructure. Mr. Wong has helped clients navigate structuring, documentation and regulatory challenges in greenfield and brownfield projects from some of the most demanding jurisdictions across Asia. Mr. Wong is an adjunct associate professor of law at the Singapore Management University and Vice-Chairman of the Society of Construction Law (Singapore).

Mr. Chinta Bhagat is the Executive Director for Investments at Khazanah, the strategic investment fund of the Government of Malaysia. He joined Khazanah from McKinsey & Co, where he was Managing Partner in the Singapore Office. He was also a senior leader for the Principal Investor, and Healthcare Systems and Services practices. Over 24 years of experience in investments, driving portfolio company performance, and designing and implementing governance systems. Mr. Bhagat holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School and is a qualified architect.

Ms. Sahu has over 15 years of diverse experience, working for the UK government, as well as Big 4 accounting firm specializing in the funds industry with numerous assignments at top tier banks and insurance companies. She specializes in Venture investing, business development, strategic advisory and finance. Ms. Sahu has invested in tech startups from Singapore, India and US, working with them on their strategy and business development in the Region. Ms. Sahu was selected as an ACE mentor by Singapore Government and is a judge at various business plan pitches: Insead, Nanyang EMBA & MBA, Nanyang Masters program, National University of Singapore MBA, NUS Institute of Systems Sciences, New York State EMBA etc. Tax expertise in structuring entities and taking companies and funds to listing on the LSE. After moving to Asia in 2006, she has given substantial pro bono support to social businesses and charities in the Region.

He is based at the firm’s Singapore office and focuses globally. Mr. Nguyen-Phuong has 33 years of investment experience. Previously, Mr. Nguyen-Phuong worked in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions in New York, Brussels, and London for ten years. Laurence Lien is Co-Founder and CEO of the Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), a non-profit platform for Asian philanthropists to exchange, learn and collaborate. Laurence is also the Chairman of Lien Foundation, a family foundation established in 1980. Under his leadership, Lien Foundation has become well-regarded for its forward-thinking and radical approach in the fields of education, eldercare and the environment. Laurence was the CEO of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre in Singapore from 2008-2014. In 2008, he founded the Community Foundation of Singapore and is currently its Chairman. He is also Board Member of the Lien Centre for Social Innovation at the Singapore Management University. Prior to his work in the non-profit sector, Laurence served in the Singapore Government. In 2010, Laurence was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship. He was also a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2012-2014.

Mark Chang Mun Kee is a Malaysian businessman and the founder of MOL AccessPortal and JobStreet.com. He is also the CEO of JobStreet.com and serves on the boards of Vitrox Technologies, Innity Corporation Berhad and 104 Corporation, Taiwan. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Texas in 1988, he later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he was awarded a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1990. He began his dot.com journey with the establishment of MOL Online Sdn Bhd (currently MOL AccessPortal) in 1995, Malaysia's first commercial website, which offered portal services. Its online job listings section, became JobStreet.com. Mr. Chang also serves as the Penang State Advisor for Persatuan Usahawan Muda Malaysia (PUMM), as well as an advisor in the AllStars program. Additionally, he is also known to be a mentor to Khai Yin, the founder of GoodPlace.my.

He was also a founding partner of Mandara Spa Asia — the leading global operator of resort spas. Mr. Edleson is a founder of Alila Hotels & Resorts. In Commune, he oversees the new developments, corporate strategy and brand direction in Asia.

He has extensive experience in corporate strategy development, mergers, acquisitions and alliances advisory, and operational transformation. Prior to A.T. Kearney, Naveen worked for 2 years at General Electric Corporation where he was part of the Corporate Audit Staff and was also trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt. Naveen is also a knowledge adviser to the World Economic Forum and his work in the area of personal data has been featured at several public and private sessions at the Annual Meeting in Davos from 2013-15. Naveen has a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and an MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau/Singapore). Before joining the Singapore Committee for UN Women as General Manager, Pia Bruce, a former management consultant and Harvard Kennedy School of Government graduate, was on the founding team of aidha, a 'business school' for migrant domestic workers in Singapore, providing financial education along with entrepreneurship, confidence building, computer training as well as supporting services like business plan counselling and microfinance connections. Prior to joining aidha, Pia managed the then Citigroup-INSEAD Financial Education Exchange, gaining significant knowledge about financial education in the Asia Pacific region. Pia has also been involved in the design and development of an e-learning resources platform for the US K-12 school community, and has multi-country experience in corporate change management, curriculum development and train-the-trainer course implementation.

Rico Gonzalez

Mr. Gonzalez is Co-Founder and Managing Director of xchange, an impact-first social enterprise incubator in the Philippines. He began his career as a philosophy teacher at the Ateneo de Manila University, before becoming a research analyst at Asia Equity, the first foreign-owned investment house in the Philippines. Subsequently, Mr. Gonzalez moved to Hong Kong to work at JP Morgan and then at Cazenove, leading a team of analysts to cover financial services companies across Asia. In 2003, Rico returned to the Philippines, and, together with his wife and partners, ran Information Gateway, a mobile content company that grew to become one of the largest players in the space. Here he gained much practical experience around running and scaling enterprises. In 2009, he began to focus his efforts on building the social enterprise sector in the Philippines, and in 2011, founded xchange together with his wife. Mr. Gonzalez holds a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mr Surinder Kathpalia, Managing Director and Head of ASEAN & South Asia at Standard &Poor’s until the end of 2014, having co-founded its Singapore office in October 1996.  Mr.  Surinder is a member of the Board of Governors’ Audit and Governance Committees of the United World College of South East Asia and a member of the Advisory Council of the Indian Institute of Finance. Prior to S&P, Surinder worked as an investment banker with HSBC and as a Principal at EY.
