Amp Deekong was born in Bangkok, Thailand. He is currently an Ashoka Thailand Venture and Fellowship Manager and the founder of Leeway, an organization  addressing challenges in early childhood education in Thailand. He conducts professional development training to parents, educators, and policymakers, utilizing science-based innovation and emphasizing the importance of adult-child daily interaction. He also advocates for the elimination of written exams for admission to preschool through first grade in Thai elementary schools. Prior, he worked as a Program Associate at Ashoka, contributing to fundraising for Thai changemakers, and as a Policy Innovation Analyst at UNDP, leading the establishment of the Thailand Policy Lab. After earning a Master's in Education from Harvard University, he worked as a Research Assistant at Ready for School Rwanda and as a lead preschool teacher at Boston Outdoor Preschool.
