Alex manages Ashoka UK’s community of Fellows and supporters, creating opportunities for them to connect and identify ways to drive change. She joined Ashoka in 2018 to manage events and a few months later took over the management of the Fellowship community. A languages graduate from Newcastle University in the UK, Alex spent the first part of her career in advertising. While she learned a huge amount and developed valuable skills, she realised that she needed a career which allowed her to have a positive impact on society and the environment, so left in 2017 to pursue a new direction. A volunteer placement at Ashoka sparked her interest in social entrepreneurship; as well as working at Ashoka, Alex has co-founded an organisation called The New Ism with Ashoka Fellow Mel Young, with the ambition of creating a new, more inclusive economic system built on existing social innovation.
