Center for Social Entrepreneurship
The mission of the Ashoka McKinsey Center for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE) is to strengthen the profession of social entrepreneurship and innovation by building a community of cross-sectoral leaders, programs and innovations.
The Center for Social Entrepreneurship, launched and currently managed in São Paulo, Brazil, provides Ashoka Fellows, the citizen sector and the private sector with a range of opportunities for knowledge and skills-transfer, training, contacts and cross-sectoral understanding.
The CSE builds a business-social bridge through Ashoka programs such as the Citizen Base Initiative and the Entrepreneur to Entrepreneur program, as well as the Ashoka-McKinsey and Company partnership.
These cross-sectoral activities provide mutual benefits to - and deepen the ties between - the social and business sectors may engage the academic and public sectors as participants as well.
Programs and benefits include:
- Workshops and training in creative fundraising strategies, marketing/communications and volunteer management for Ashoka Fellows and citizen sector organizations
- Financial, in-kind and professional services contributions for Ashoka Fellows
- Training and contacts in human resource management, motivation and business responsibility for the private sector
- Transfer of knowledge, best practices and contacts between leaders in these sectors
