The Nicaragua program is part of Ashoka's most recent expansion in Latin America, which also included Guatemala. Ashoka elected its first Ashoka Fellow in Nicaragua in late 2000. The program is managed from Ashoka's Mexico/Central America sub-regional office in Mexico City.
