The Guatemala program is part of Ashoka's most recent expansion in Latin America, which also included Nicaragua. Ashoka elected its first Ashoka Fellow in Guatemala in late 2000. The program is managed from Ashoka's Mexico/Central America sub-regional office in Mexico City.
