Nadine Freeman, Andean RegionNadine Freeman joined Ashoka in 1998 as the Andean Region Director. In 2008 she became Ashoka’s Director of Latin American Fellowship. Prior to joining Ashoka, Nadine worked as Program Director at the South North Development Initiative, helping to create venture capital funds for small and medium-sized socially oriented businesses in Latin America and Southern Africa. Nadine received an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. While at the Anderson School, she headed up the Green Business Association, worked with Conservation International in Ecuador and was an Associate in the UCLA Anderson Head Start Directors Management Training program.
Rocio InfanteRocío has been a part of the Ashoka team since 2002. She holds two positions: Communications and Marketing Coordinator and Administration and Finance Coordinator. In her capacity as Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Rocío develops tools to spread Ashoka's mission. Prior to Ashoka, Rocío worked in Peru's small-business sector at Innovaciones Gamarra, an organization founded by Ashoka Fellow, Juan Infante. There, Rocío headed several economic development initiatives, spurring the sector's growth. She also worked in the private sector in Argentina and Venezuela. Rocío studied at the Universidad del Pacífico where she earned technical degrees in Bussiness Administration, Marketing, and International Business.
Marina Mansilla Hermann, BrazilMarina joined Ashoka in February 2007 as part of its Youth Venture Program, seeking to catalyze young people’s potential to make a positive change in their communities. Marina comes to Ashoka after having worked for more than a decade with Peace Child International, a youth-led organization that empowers young people “to be the change they want to see in the world”. She has also worked very closely with UNEP in its efforts to encourage and support young peoples’ participation in environmental issues. Marina holds a BSc. in Environmental Sciences from Salta’s Catholic University in Argentina and is finishing an MA. in Environment and Development from King’s College London.
Carina PimentaCarina Pimenta joined Ashoka after earning a Master in Social Development at University of Sussex, England. There, she created Latin America in the Spotlight, a forum designed to raise awareness about the region and further discussions on social, economic and political development issues among students and faculty members. Carina studied Business Administration and Economics and worked for 5 years at a consulting firm – Roland Berger Strategic Consultants – where she was responsible for research and information and designed a knowledge management program for the South American operations.
Gaston Wright, Buenos AiresGaston is the Director of Localization for Ashoka’s Changemakers. Before Changemakers, Gaston worked for several Ashoka programs including Global Fellowship and Ashoka Citizen Base Initiative in Buenos Aires and Toronto. While working for Ashoka Global Fellowship Program, Gaston launched and supported Fellow collaborations on anti-corruption policies, human rights and health in Latin America, Africa, Asia and North America. He has a passion for Political Science and teaches Latin American politics and economy at the University of Toronto. Gaston received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Del Salvador University, Argentina and completed his master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Toronto, Canada. He studied, lived and worked in the UK, The Netherlands, Argentina and Canada.
