Ashoka Awarded Four-Star Rating
For the seventh consecutive year, Ashoka has been awarded Charity Navigator’s four-star fiscal responsibility rating — the highest ranking achievable. Charity Navigator is the largest independent charity evaluator in America , analyzing the financial health of citizen sector organizations to help philanthropists make intelligent giving decisions.
Organizations are evaluated based on their organizational capacity and efficiency, income statements, ratio of program expenditures to administrative and fundraising expenditures, and revenue intake trend. In order to earn a four-star rating, an organization must demonstrate that it is “exceptional” and “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause.”
Of all the citizen sector organizations they have rated, only 1% have received this highest rating for six years in a row — an indication of Ashoka’s exemplary fiscal practices and transparent reporting.
